It's been a whirlwind. What? you ask. My life, I say.
errands, lists, lists, and errands.
work & school. school & friends.
you know... the life, the whirlwind.
I came across this note the other day, from my Claire.
P.S. I highly recommend this method of figuring out your spirit animal over the online quizzes.

Give Blood! but read the fine print before you wait in line
I tried...
But had I read the fine print and 12 page packet before waiting in line for 45 minutes, during my lunch break, might I add, this all could have been avoided.
Lesson: If you have had a piercing/tattoo (within the past year), done needle-related drugs, and/or slept with people for money, or slept with a guy who's slept with a guy, even if it only happened once then, yes, your blood will be rejected.
P.S. I only violated the first crime.

Ingrid Hora: functional escapism
I would like to escape also, maybe soon, unfortunately not in a beautiful manner as this.

"i just want to be alright, try to live a simple life"
Listened to my song today, 2 times. First time in a long time. That's what happens when nostalgia takes over and the good times seem so far away.
I'm seriously considering moving..... to ..... Portland!
Where the cost of living is LOW :) and the the charm, grunge, and coffee is HIGH.
Perhaps, in January? I just don't know if I'm cut out for Southern California. LA and I have a love/hate relationship. I hate what I love about it and I love what I hate. I love how it's the Art/Fashion/Music empire of the world, but I hate everything that comes with that-- The lack of character, the flood of materialism... *sigh. I love being able to go on roadtrips or be in Hollywood in 30 minutes, but there's more to life, and I don't think I'm going to find it here. I need a city that's not going to eat my soul or my wallet, nom nom nom.

25 random facts
I know this is a facebook thing, but I definitely enjoyed reading other peoples, especially Beth's (see February 12), she's quite the one to make me laugh hysterically; mine aren't quite as random or witty, but enjoy.
1. I like to collect globes, maps, and screen-printed posters.
2. Until I was nine, I collected horse and unicorn figurines, I had quite a collection (from porcelain to glass, to afghans, to wallpaper trim).
3. I also rode a horse as a child; His name was Hukilau.
4. I've spent many days in the hospital throughout my lifetime, I'd say over a year, close to two, if I added them all together due to family illness.
5. I have a large birthmark on my left arm that starts at my wrist and ends on my shoulder blade. When I was eight a girl asked me if it was a birthmark and then said, "it looks good on you."
6. If I could be anything in the world, I would be a mermaid, hands down.
7. Watching TV is a highly escapist activity for me and is necessary for my sanity these days.
8. I'm going to school full-time, have an internship, and a job this semester as well as a senior show to plan; I’m tired all the time.
9. I have always had a difficult time falling asleep at night, ever since I was a young child.
10. The doctors say I have a soft voice because I don't take enough breaths, making projection difficult.
11. I really dislike going to chapel for two reasons: I dislike 90% of worship music because the majority of it is poorly written and repetitive to the point of indifference; the viewing of "give your neighbor a sensual massage" (see my first note).
12. The first time I went out with my ex, I literally hit my head on a metal street sign because I was so nervous and was looking to the ground. The sound of the metal waving in the air consequently led to a guy on the street asking me if I needed ice because he happened to be carrying a large bag of it. I was mortified.
13. The funniest thing I've seen in the past semester was when my friend Andrew picked up the guitar (unannounced) for Rockband, turned his back to the TV, and played “Metal Heavy Lady” perfectly on expert.
14. I remember I used to love to hide in my dad’s 70’s orange-lined guitar case before he came home from work.
15. My brother is the one person in the world I’d do absolutely anything for.
16. My room at home has changed many times over the years: bunny wallpaper, Ernie and Bert (he was always my fav, despite the uni-brow) wallpaper, horse wallpaper, white paint, black paint, and currently light green paint, and apparently my mother just painted it a nice warm neutral (unbeknownst to me).
17. We used to travel a lot when I was growing up, I went to Paris twice, England, Spain, Japan, and all over the US before I was nine.
18. Broken Social Scene is the band I love to listen to the most despite the perverted song titles.
19. I love snow, I’ve only seen it actually fall once, and we pulled to the side of the road so I could experience it. (Thank you Angie Welsch)
20. I miss my best girls from home and love how different we are, yet understand each other so well.
21. I think the greatest gifts are songs, homemade goods, and creatively planned excursions.
22. This is the first time I haven’t been in a relationship since I was fifteen. I’m learning how to do things on my own for once. It’s liberating, yet lonely.
23. One of the best things a guy ever told me was, “I will never make you watch ESPN” but “you are my rushmore” was definitely the winner.
24. Whoever gets up first (between my roommate and I) brings the other coffee and a slice of toast. It’s our new tradition now that we’ve claimed each other as our heterosexual life partners.
25. I’m not into watching sports too much, but I definitely watched the fight on Saturday night and am a little embarrassed to be sharing that. I was bummed that Penn loss, I have some Hawaiian pride within me (Penn fight 1.31.09) .

in need of some lovin'
Lately, I've been missing having pets around. Granted, Colin Farrell, my fish, is rad, he's great, such a trooper, going strong, but I don't get much feedback from him. So if anyone want's to give me any of these sweet babies, keep em' coming.
If these are too obscure, I'm definitely open to getting a dog.

be kind and love
It sounds so simple, so direct, yet so impossible. My heart is heavy, my heart is tired. My "good sense" seems so unimportant these days. Doing the "right thing" seems to bear little weight in the scheme of things and happens to be a lonely place at times. I want to be who I need to be, who people need me to be, who God wants me to be, but most of the time I feel like I'm drowning in expectations, fears, anxiety, and pressure. Somebody send some air my way or at least a floating device.
